Item 1 - Warsash Bottle Bank Usage

The bottle banks in the village centre car park are often overflowing looking unsightly and dangerous. They are emptied by contractors to the Council, on Mondays and Wednesdays only. Please be aware there are alternative bottle banks at Passage Lane car park and in the Salterns Club car park.

Councillor Nadolski reports that soon control over emptying these will be returning to Council hands

Item 6 Monthly Clean up at Warsash and Hook shoreline

For the last four years Ben Spraggon has been organsing the monthly shore clean up. Meet him at 1000 on the first Monday of each month, at the Passage Lane car park on the shore. Ben has six sites that he asks people in groups to go to, armed with rubbish sacks, litter pickers and gloves which Ben provides.

Finishing by about 1200, most excursions produce 20-25 sacks of rubbish of all kinds, mostly plastic. Ben informs us that he has yet to find anything valuable! The rubbish is taken care of by Ben who has an arrangement with FBC.

Great exercise plus a feel good factor thrown in!

Item 8 Local Police Summary
Good Morning,
I appreciate there has been no summary for the past 2 weeks and I would just like to thank you all for your patience. This was down to circumstances beyond my control. I'm afraid it may be a little disjointed as we slowly get through the silly season but I will endeavour to ensure you receive updates as they become available. Last week saw a Burglar disturbed in Warsash area and following a pursuit one was detained. It is possibly too early to speculate as yet, whether all the recent breaks in and around Warsash and Sarisbury are linked to this team but it will be looked at very closely by CID I have no doubt.

Pedal cycles are going on a regular basis and when resources allow I will arrange a suitable operation to address this matter. Sweethills Crescent Whiteley has had an increase in yobbish behaviour generally late night early morning and always drink related. It still seems adults are buying the booze for the youth's as both Tesco and other such premises are requesting ID where appropriate. We had made some good progress in and around this area but it appears we will need to step up the patrols once again. As ever this will have to be dictated by the limited resources available at this time.

Until next week take care.

Item 9 Dog Walkers Dirty Protest?

It seems that removal of two of the three dog poo bins on Hook Park has caused a bit of a stink.  For some reason some dog walkers go to the trouble of collecting the mess then dumping it in a pile where the bin used to be. There are more effective and healthy ways of making a point, surely! This has been reported

Cllr Nadolski is looking into it!

Item 14. The bench on the shore footpath

On the shore path, as you walk from the Rising Sun towards  Strawberry Field, is a bench that bears a dedication to a loved one. The bench also bears an inscription indicating that it was donated by the Residents Association. The bench is in a poor state of repair and needs improvement.

The dedication reads as follows...........'Jackie Darling, love of my life,  x,  R.A.'
