C.A.M.E.L. C.A.M.E.L. or Campaign Against Mineral Extraction and Landfill, is a local organisation formed to protest against the prospect of the areas of Chilling and Brownwich being identified by HCC as a gravel and sand extraction site. Friends of Holly Hill Holly Hill Woodland Park conservation area is tended by the Friends of Holly Hill to ensure it remains a haven for natural flora and fauna. The Parks native woodland is managed to conserve and increase its rich diversity of wildlife.

Hook with Warsash Local Nature Reserve Over 500 acres at the mouth of the river Hamble, including intertidal mudflats and a shoreline almost 3 miles long. There are a variety of habitats of which some are regionally rare and declining. Access to the reserve is via a network of public footpaths. The two public car parks close to the waterfront at Warsash are an ideal starting point.

Maritime and Coastguard Agency

This Agency is responsible throughout the UK for implementing the Government’s maritime safety policy. That includes co-ordinating search and rescue at sea through Her Majesty’s Coastguard, and checking that ships meet UK and international safety rules. MCGA work to prevent the loss of lives at the coast and at sea, to ensure that ships are safe, and to prevent coastal pollution Safer Lives, Safer Ships, Cleaner Seas.

River Hamble Harbour Authority

The River Hamble Harbour Authority is managed by Hampshire County Council's Recreation and Heritage department. We manage the River for the benefit of all its users, and to provide the  services and facilities as seen on our website.


SCOPAC - Standing Conference on Problems Associated with the Coastline.
SCOPAC works to promote sustainable shoreline management, and to facilitate the duties and responsibilities of local authorities and other organisations managing the coastal zone of central southern England.

Solent Forum The Solent Forum was established in December 1992, in order to develop a greater understanding among the authorities and agencies involved in planning and management in the Solent area, and to assist and influence them in carrying out their functions. The Forum has been set up to consider and provide advice on strategic issues - that is, issues which have implications for a wide area. The Forum does not have any executive powers and its members have no voting rights. As far as possible the Forum is to operate on an ‘equal partners’ basis. The W.R.A. is represented on this group

Solent Protection Society

The Solent Protection Society, formed in 1956, exists to safeguard the amenities of the Solent area and do everything possible to preserve their beauty for our own and future generations. Discussion at the preliminary Public Meeting in 1956 by those opposed to the Hook Oil Refinery, lead to agreement that a Society for the Preservation of the Solent Area should be formed.

The Hampshire and Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology

The Hampshire and Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology promotes interest, research and knowledge of maritime archaeology and heritage in Great Britain with core activities concentrated in the counties of Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and the adjacent South Coast areas.

The Solent Way

The Solent Way is a 60 mile footpath linking Milford on Sea with Emsworth Harbour, much of the path following the Hampshire coast line and passing through the New Forest.  This site has photos and brief directions for all 60 miles of the path, split into easy stages.

Victory Hall Warsash The village hall website to find clubs, societies and organsiations that meet there and for hiring the venue

Warsash Art Group WARSASH & DISTRICT ART GROUP was founded in 1958 with the aim of furthering members' interest in the visual arts. The Group logo  illustrates the area's association with the lobster trade in years past.

Evening meetings are held in St. Mary's Church Hall, Church Road, Warsash on the first Thursday of each month, except January and August. These include talks, slide shows and demonstrations by practising artists and professionals in art and related fields.

Warsash Band

The Warsash Band exists to give local people the chance to play and listen to quality music-making in a relaxed environment. We are an entirely self-funded military-style band with a varied repertoire, including marches, musicals and much more!

The band is split into a main band and a training section. The training section allows beginners to get experience of playing in a band and also gives main band members a chance to try out a new instrument. It attends the Gosport Music Festival every year, and is a regular winner of the festival cup. The main band can be booked for summer fetes and other events, and both bands can be seen in our annual summer, winter and St. George's Day concerts.


Warsash Common

This area formerly known as Fleet End Open Space, is important for people and wildlife alike. Since 1995, when Fareham Borough Council purchased the whole of the site, it's 25 hectares have been designated as informal public open space without compromising its value to a range of plants and animals. It is safeguarded for these purposes now and into the future. There are  three circular walks for everyone to enjoy throughout the year.

 

You can get free exercise and fresh air by helping with some simple tasks on the Common, first Sunday every month between 1000-1300, meet at Fleet End, and frequently on Tuesdays, check the FBC Countryside Tasks page


Warsash History Society

The Warsash Local History Society was created to foster interest in the history of Warsash itself and its close neighbour, Hook. The Society is  building a permanent local history archive to be maintained for future generations, and both encourage and support new research projects. The society holds regular meetings with guest speakers, and provides a social gathering of people interested in their local history.

 


Warsash Maritime Academy For over 60 years Warsash Maritime Academy has provided first class training, consultancy and research to the international shipping and offshore oil industries. The college supports Warsash business by it's presence and student numbers, both permanent residents and day students.

Warsash Tennis Club

Situated in the pleasant surroundings of the recreation ground in Warsash village, the club facilities include three floodlit all-weather hard courts with a small and friendly clubhouse. Warsash Tennis Club is closely affiliated to the LTA.

With over 32 Men's, Ladies, Mixed and Junior teams competing in both local and national leagues, the club has a comprehensive coaching structure and many team opportunities for players of all standards. Our top teams play at the highest level in county leagues which attracts many top players to the club frrom all over the county.


Warsash Theatre Club The Club was founded in 1975 for those who had an interest in Amateur Dramatics and has presented plays, both of the serious and comedy varieties and Pantomimes since then.

We are a very active and friendly group who meet for both socialising and rehearsing at a local venue and present our productions at the Victory Hall in Warsash, an excellent venue for stage productions. Rehearsals are held at the Salterns Club in Newtown Road, just 2 mins walk from the Warsash clocktower. 

 

We have a thriving youth group who (currently) age from just 8 through to 16 (and who all appear on stage) and our aim is to teach them the skills involved in acting and / or singing on stage in front of a live audience.

Warsash is a village in southern Hampshire, England, situated at the mouth of the River Hamble, west of the the area known as Locks Heath. Boating plays an important part in the village's economy, and the village has a sailing club. It is also home to Warsash Maritime Academy, part of Southampton Solent University, which provides training for Merchant Navy Officers from around the world.
